Crawl space Insulation

Insulating your crawl space reduces energy use and keeps your home comfortable. Insulation batts are installed between floor joists against the subfloor and held into place with twine. Batts are cut to fit flush against plumbing and wiring.

Insulation
For proper subfloor insulation in your crawl space, R-30 must be used. If the joist cavity is too shallow for R-30, we use the highest R value that will fit in the joist cavity. All of the batt insulation we use is formaldehyde free so you can enjoy a healthier indoor air quality. And for those interested in reducing their carbon footprint we proudly offer EcoBatt, a more natural insulation that is made primarily from sand, which is one of the Earths most revewable resources.

Vapor Barrier
 Vapor barrier is laid on the crawl space floor to prevent moisture from leaving the soil and damaging or compromising the structure of your house. Covering the crawl space floor using 6-mile black polyethylene vapor barrier, our technicians cut around post piers for it to fit snugly. A healthy crawl space is a dry one, and the vapor barrier keeps it that way.

Heat Ducts
We wrap heat ducts in R-11 batt insulation. Damaged heat ducts cause insufficient heating for your home and waste energy. Faulty ducts are sealed and repaired or replaced depending on the degree of damage. In some cases heat ducts just need to be reattached properly.
